Interview with Ines Segura aspiring Actress and Model

 

 

Ines  Segura, tell my readers about yourself.

Of the Dominican ethnicity, born and raised in a small city in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always wanted to be a singer, model and an actress. However, I cannot sing at all, but I love it! I still do it! lol! I’m one who sings and dances all around the house. I always loved the camera. Then I decided to attend “John Casablancas Modeling and Acting" careers center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. I graduated in 2011. I haven’t had enough time to do much. Single mother I had to take care of my household, things were stagnant for a while. I am so thankful to God, that I started up again.

What is your favorite book?

The Coldest Winter Ever a novel by Sister Souljah

A really good book, really good look at life when it’s poverty-stricken. A lot of people make good choices, or were just lucky to be raised in a good neighborhood. Which is good, everyone deserves a good/ happy peaceful life we’re all human for that matter. However others aren’t so lucky, and have no choice, they are just trying to eat and survive, in a dog eat dog world. While dealing with the daily struggles of life, in a tough, hard city. Dealing with drugs, sex, prostitution, violence, greed, vanity and the cycle of poverty.

How are you taking the lock down?

To be quite frank, I’m such an introvert, so reserved and private. So it doesn’t bother me. At times it isn’t easy, the craving to want to step out and catch up with family and friends, but we mustn’t for safety reasons. It’s hard, it really is. I’m rarely bored when I’m by myself. I started exercising and taking better care of myself (again) lol. Now with so much time in my hands it’s been all about self care. Self care of the mind, body, and soul. I just keep busy, and relax as much as I can. I mix it all up! I meditate, I’ve been reading (love reading), I pray, I pray a lot actually. My relationship with God is of utmost importance to me. Some people say religion, I feel as though it’s more of a relationship with God. So actually this time to myself has been very beneficial to me. In my opinion lol. I’m so very thankful! I’m an optimistic person, so I always try to see the good in everything and everyone. No harsh judgments, no criticism. Just peace and love.

What makes you the happiest:

What makes me the happiest is when I'm with my family! ❤️ Also when I can help! Most importantly when it’s for a good cause! I volunteered for a few charity events. One in particular was for the American Cancer Society,

NBCF/NKF Awareness. All of the cancers, and kidney disease. All donations and proceedings were made to the American Cancer Society. One Cancer survivor in the local area was also picked. and was given a donation as well. It was a good feeling knowing that all funds were going to a charitable cause to help with a few of the heartbreaking, painful, horrible diseases that unfortunately live up on us today. It was hard work, but I was so happy with the end results. That was one of the happiest moments of my life. Especially due to the fact that my mother is a cancer survivor herself, since 2011, I really felt the emotional connection.

What are you currently doing?

As for my professional life, my regular 9-to-5, I’m an assistant manager for an optometrist. My prior experience was mental health. Which I actually miss to be honest. It felt good helping people, and watching them grow and evolve. For many years, I was in management for an outpatient mental health agency. I miss mental health, always a challenge while trying to help.

What is your aspiration?

My dream would be to get booked in a good movie role, and to meet a few of my favorite actresses, actors, producers and directors. And as for modeling, to be on the cover of every magazine as a plus sized strong woman! We’re all beautiful, and sexy in all shapes and sizes baby! We all need love! Just a humble and friendly reminder, that us plus sizes we do exist, and we have lots of love to give! But I’ll legit be Representing all women in general. That would be a dream of mine! I live in a small city where gigs cease to exist lol. So it’s been hard for me to find work in the entertainment world, (yes I do travel) while still managing my responsibilities (my job). While quarantined, I made TikTok videos and I realized I haven’t done anything professionally for a few years. Wow how time goes by! Lol but I still won’t give up! My dream is to travel the world doing what I love Acting and Modeling. All while being a good inspiration, a great motivator to all the people of the world. With so much peace and love.

What question do you wish to be asked? And how would you answer it?

What’s my favorite food! 😭😭 LOL just kidding, Am I?! Lol! A good question actually! I love food! I love trying new foods, and all kinds of foods! I do know how to cook. I've been cooking since I was 10 years old. However I don’t like the cooking part too much lol. Not only does food taste great for the most part lol, but it’s also very interesting, creative and fun. So many different dishes from all around the world. I think it’s fun trying new foods and exploring what’s all out there. I think it’s very exciting! I love trying new foods.
